Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children is well recognized as Hawai‘i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 207 beds and 66 bassinets, the nonprofit hospital is Hawai‘i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is also a tertiary care, medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency care, neonatal and pediatric air transport and children’s specialty clinics. Our Perioperative Services department provides full support throughout the duration of a patient's surgical procedure, spanning ward admission, anesthesia, surgery and recovery. Professional care services include identification of the patient’s individual needs, patient care plan development and implementation and the coordination of nursing service to restore each patient’s health before, during and after a surgical procedure.
If you are highly organized and have an appreciation for operational integrity, you could be part of the team that distributes supplies accurately and efficiently at Kapi‘olani. As the SPD Technician you will clean, prepare, assemble, sterilize, distribute and ensure the quality of all surgical instruments and specific medical equipment according to established procedures and techniques. You will also inventory and replenish medical supplies; assist with training new aides; act in a lead capacity and serve as resource to other employees. Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. Central Supply Technician certification training course. Current National Central Supply Technician Certification. Two (2) years SPD/Central Processing experience.
