Volt is looking for an Optical Technician to work with our client, located in Honolulu, HI and surrounding areas. Pay Rate: $15/hr.

Location: Honolulu, HI 96819

Shift: 1st Shift 9AM-4PM

General Summary:

Under direct supervision, perform a variety of tasks related to daily Lab operations and production.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform department tasks including one or more of the following:

  • Mail functions including open and sort incoming mail and packages

  • Shipping and delivery functions including pack lenses and finished jobs, label, erect shipping cartons, and wrap orders; maintain supplies for shipping and delivery areas

  • Tray up functions including move jobs into the stockroom, load trays into static or automated conveyors or machine loading stations such as stacker/de-stackers, and sort/deliver trays to appropriate areas

  • Lens stocking and staging work in designated areas

  • De-box and label lenses received from the stockroom and verify the lenses are in the correct location of the tray and block size

  • Deblock functions including assist with the alloy reclaim stations, deblock lenses manually or by using an auto deblocker, wash lenses to remove polish, deblock edged lenses, remove overcoat, sort lenses based on digital and toric inspections, and sort/deliver trays to appropriate areas

  • AR wash prep functions/envelopes/manual lens marking by laser engraver or stylus, including clean AR chamber shields

  • Assist in efficiently moving work through the department

  • Maintain company safety standards

  • Maintain a clean workstation

  • Assist and cooperate with other departments

  • Ensure understanding and adherence to quality management and safety requirements, systems and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned
