Based in the Honolulu, Hawaii area, this opening for a Controller is a full-time position. Responsibilities include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. In this role, it will be critical for you to effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. Key responsibilities - Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required - Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities - Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll - Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis - Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports - Manage the production of the yearly budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly - Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual - Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash - Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation - Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations

Requirements: - CPA or MBA preferred - Be detailed, flexible, and organized - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field - Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations - Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity - 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred - Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus - Strong familiarity with general ledger - Experience with financial statements consolidation - Solid understanding of job costing - Sage Timberline experience required - Financial statement preparation experience - Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired - Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision - Sound written and verbal communication skills - Vow to meet business deadlines - Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
